DEPUTY CHAIRMAN:MUSLIM WORLD BIZ,CHAIRMAN:THE MUSLIM WORLD RANIA AWARD,EDITOR-IN-CHIEF OIC TODAY MAGAZINE

Over the past 8 years, the Muslim World Business and Investment Zone has been connecting individuals, organisations and governments from around the Muslim world. Every year, the participants and visitors witness and enjoy great activities and trading opportunities by attending the event’s various zones including the exhibition zone, the conference zone and also the prestigious award ceremonies. This last activity is one of most important highlights of the Muslim World Biz, where the Jewels of the Muslim World Award and the Muslim World Rania Award are presented to a group of distinguished men and women in appreciation and recognition of their hard work to serve local as well as international communities.

Both awards are honoured by OIC TODAY, the international business and investment magazine which is also the official magazine of the Muslim World Biz. As the Editor-in-Chief, I work with my team to attain our mission by complementing the work done at the event through publishing reliable information, updated statistics, investment opportunities and market researches from all 57 OIC member countries and spread it around the world. It is also important to understand that economic cooperation between Islamic and non-Islamic states has the potential to overcome all challenges including the stereotype against Muslims. Therefore, we have chosen the theme ‘Spearheading Sustainable Economic Growth’ for this year’s event.

Since 2011 a total of 60 leaders from different industries received the Jewels of the Muslim World Award. The award is presented to acknowledge their contribution and also to inspire the young generation who will attend the special Round Table Talk programme where the award winners share their stories of success and provide advice on how to nature future leaders. Last year we introduced The Muslim World Rania Award to with a similar objective but a different scope. This new award honours the contributions of women to the development of the economic and social life across the Muslim world. It sends a clear message about women’s actual status in Islam and how their efforts must be valued.

Looking at the impressive record of excellence the event has had over past eight years, we are truly honoured to have been the official magazine of the event and we will continue to support its cause. Last year, The 8th Muslim World Biz saw the incorporation of activities related to women’s empowerment and their active participation in all walks of life. In addition to the award ceremony, the first Muslim World Women’s Summit was organised over two days to shed the light on important issues pertaining to the involvement of women in various business sectors. This year, we are continuing this programme with new features that guarantee more benefits to all participants.

Following the trend of incorporating new functions to the Muslim World Biz every year to match the increasing needs for cooperation, the 9th Muslim World Biz will witness the presentation of a brand new award given to distinct entrepreneurships for their industrial excellence. We are also introducing changes to the structure and organisation of the event. You are invited to participate in the event this year to experience the new features which we believe will bring about great benefits to your personal and professional endeavours.

I look forward to welcome you to the 9th Muslim World Biz.

Sincerely yours,
